      Duties & Responsibilities


      Harvard Human Resources is seeking a Senior Analyst to be part of the Analytics and Reporting Team.  The team’s mission is to deliver workforce information to leaders responsible for strategy and decision making, to educate users on the meaning and use of HR information, and to expand our existing portfolio of self-service applications.  The Senior Analyst will use QlikView, a leading business intelligence software and in-memory analysis tool, to develop and design enterprise reporting applications.   The incumbent will also be responsible for leading the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of data models and dashboards, including working with the Harvard University Information Technology Data Warehouse team to enhance data warehouse objects, when necessary. The audience for these QlikView applications includes University leaders, HR officers, and financial managers across multiple lines of business throughout the University.

      This position will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing new operational and analytical models, documents and dashboards.  The Senior Analyst will help maintain and enhance existing Human Resource QlikView applications.  In addition, this person will improve usability of the applications, lead changes to the QlikView data model from which all dashboards are sourced, perform analysis, troubleshoot problems, support users, and test, document, and sign off on enhancements and upgrades. As a member of the HRIS team, the individual will also be responsible for leading a variety of special projects.

      The Senior Analyst will report to the Associate Director of HR Analytics and Reporting. 

      The ideal
      candidate will be an articulate, curious individual with strong technical and programming skills, good business acumen, and excellent interpersonal skills. 

      Basic Qualifications


      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
      • Minimum 7 years experience with RDBMS technologies, especially the functional design and modeling of data.
      • Experience with enterprise intelligence applications (e.g. QlikView, Tableau, Cognos, Oracle OBIEE).
      • Strong SQL skills.
      • Experience translating business needs into data models supporting long-term enterprise intelligence solutions. 
      • Ability to design and build sophisticated dashboards.

      Additional Qualifications


      • Experience with QlikView application deployment, Server, Publisher, and ADOBE a plus.
      • Experience with the functional design of relational star schemas. 
      • Visual Basic and Java scripting a plus.
      • Prior HR administration or PeopleSoft experience.
      • Knowledge of NPrinting or CIA Reports Manager tool.  
      • Eager to quickly learn and apply new concepts and technologies as business needs shift.
      • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 
      • Demonstrated ability to be a team player and excel in a collaborative environment.
      • Capable of managing multiple tasks, priorities, and deliverables.
      • High professional standards for confidentiality, data security, and quality of work.
